LaDontay Lawrence Bell was born and raised in Washington DC. Where he attended Charles R. Drew Elementary, Roper Middle School and H.D Woodson Senior High. “Man” as his family calls him, furthered his education at Cheyney University attaining a degree in Criminal Justice. He also attended Saint Joseph’s University and attained his Masters in Criminal Justice. LaDontay has worked with troubled youth since the year 2002. He was a Detention Officer and later became a Probation Officer. During his service in the Juvenile Justice System, LaDontay discovered that there was a need to help in the urban school setting. In the year 2009, LaDontay took a pay cut to work in the city of Chester as a Teacher Counselor for a behavior program called “New Pathways.” It was there that LaDontay begin to gain experience with the youth of the Chester Upland School District. LaDontay served as one of the assistant football coaches while working with the New Pathway program. In the year 2011, LaDontay became a “Climate Manager” at the middle school level within the Chester School District. LaDontay not only address behavior issues in the school corridors, but also on the football field. LaDontay transitioned from an assistant coach to the Head Coach of Chester Middle School Football in the year 2014. LaDontay served as the Middle School football coach for two years. In the year 2016, LaDontay took on an unfamiliar assignment-Physical Health Teacher at Stetser Elementary. He transitioned to Chester High as a Physical Education/Health Teacher and served as Head Coach of Chester Clippers Football for (7) years. Coach Bell led the Football program to the first and last (United X) Championship in the year 2020. In 2021, Coach Bell continued the success of the program leading the football program to its first ever playoff appearance. Coach Bell was named, Coach of the Year by the Philadelphia Eagles. In the year 2022, the football program claimed its first Del Val League Championship in 25 years and made it to the 2nd round of playoffs. LaDontay is an Ordained Deacon at the Church of Christian Compassion under the Leadership of Senior Pastor W. Lonnie Herndon. His favorite scripture is Proverbs 16:3, “Commit your actions to the Lord and your plans will succeed.”

Coach "J" Wharton has been coaching for over 32 years. He has coached the current track staff and has enjoyed coaching student athletes. Coach Wharton is still encourage student athletes but looks to retire soon.

He is currently the Head Coach of the Varsity Girls Track Team at Chester High, and the Head Coach of the Chester Cheetahs Track Club. Coach Sheikh has coached his athletes to over 20 national champions, HUNDREDS of national and international medals and All-American earning athletes, and several indoor and outdoor WORLD records. His program’s success hinges on Coach Sheikh’s belief that every athlete deserves an opportunity, and he makes sure that no athlete is hindered from opportunities because of his or her ability to finance their participation in the sport.

While at Rustin, he had a female jumper, win the triple jump, at Districts and States. Coach Seif also had a young man win the triple jump at Districts and take third at state, while at Rustin. Coach Seif was hired as the Jumps Coach, at Chester, in 2022. In his first season at Chester High School, he helped the girls track team win their first High Jump gold medal, in school history. Coach Seif is looking forward to a long and prosperous career at the Chester High School.

In 2018, Coach Sam joined the Chester High Clippers Football team under Coach LaDontay Bell. Coach Sam has just finished his second season as a defensive coordinator after 3.8 points allowed per game in his first season. Before becoming a coordinator, Coach Sam developed and coached his linebacker position. In three seasons as just a position coach, Coach Sam has had a linebacker place in All Conference, All Area Or All State honors in each three seasons. On top of coaching at the high school level, Coach Sam is a coach/trainer for Delco Elite 7v7 football club. Coach Sam serves and has developed many athletes in Delaware County with this role. Coach Sam is a coach who is climbing the ranks as a coordinator.

Coach Chambers attended and graduated from Millersville University where he was a standout basketball player himself. During Coach Chambers’ first year, the team went to the final 4 of the state tournament. Chambers enjoys his role as an assistant coach in the specific area of skill development.
